Local Lib Dems are calling for Merton Council to improve access to toilet facilities on weekends and school holidays and improvements to outdated play equipment at Joseph Hood Recreation Ground, Cannon Hill, Morden.

Following the Cannon Hill Liberal Democrats calls for upgrading of the tennis courts, splash pad and repairs to the football pitch flooding issues, the recreation ground is in use more than ever before.

The lack of toilet facilities is particularly challenging for women who need to change period products. The absence of these basic amenities makes it difficult for them to participate comfortably and confidently in recreational activities.

The lack of public toilets also affects families with young children, elderly citizens, or anyone needing these facilities while enjoying outdoor activities.

We are calling on the Council to address this pressing issue by ensuring public toilets are available as a minimum every Saturday and Sunday for sporting events and throughout school holidays. It's time we ensure that everyone can enjoy outdoor recreational activities without worry or discomfort.

Please sign this petition if you believe that access to basic sanitary facilities is a right that should be available for all members of our community.

Please also support our campaign to upgrade the outdated play equipment next to the splash pad area at the recreation ground which has been deteriorating over time. With a call for play equipment for the older 12+ age range to be considered along with accessible play equipment for disabled children.
