Community Policing

How the Lib Dems are campaigning locally and nationally to bring back community policing.

A return to proper community policing

The Liberal Democrats will make sure that community policing is re-established by ensuring police are based closer to the communities they service by stopping police station closures in Wimbledon and Mitcham and seek to have a new police base in Morden.

Keep local officers in our neighbourhoods

Too often, the few police officers we have in Merton are taken out of our communities by big protests or events in central London.

The Liberal Democrats want to see an end to this while across our area anti-social behaviour rises and most car theft and burglaries go unsolved.
