Local Lib Dems are calling for Merton Council to improve access to toilet facilities at Dundonald Rec in Wimbledon.

Toilets in the pavilion building are locked unless the sports pitches are booked by a paying club – meaning that children on the playground, joggers and other visitors as well as those those playing sports informally, can rarely use them.

Restricted access to these basic amenities makes it difficult for people to participate in activities on the Rec, comfortably and confidently.

We are calling on the Council to address this issue by ensuring public toilets are open to the public every Saturday and Sunday (whether or not pitches are formally booked) and throughout school holidays as a minimum, and longer if possible. It's time we ensure that everyone can enjoy the Rec without worry or discomfort.

Please sign this petition if you believe that access to basic sanitary facilities is a right that should be available for all members of our community.

I the undersigned back calls for improved access to the toilets at Dundonald Rec.
