Local NHS at BREAKING POINT
Shocking new figures have revealed the extent of the NHS crisis in Wimbledon and South West London.
A&E waiting times are through the roof. At Kingston, St George’s and Epsom and St Helier Hospital Trusts; 3206 people waited over 4 hours to be seen in December. Even more alarmingly, 1934 waited over 12 hours to be seen in December during the winter crisis.
Ambulance response times for urgent conditions such as heart attacks and strokes are at a record high. Response times in London for these Category 2 emergencies are now at 1 hour and 23 mins, way above the 18-minute target.
Cllr Paul Kohler, local campaigner in Wimbledon said: “This crisis has been caused by years of underfunding and mismanagement by the Conservative Government.
The health of our local residents is being put at risk. Seriously ill people are waiting hours to be seen in A&E and struggle to get a face to face GP appointment.
The Lib Dems have put forward a five point plan for how we tackle this disastrous situation, please join my campaign today to help solve this crisis.”
